The medicine collection to go with the many hours you have been stuck at home checking your watch and asking, Is the pandemic over yet?? The vaccine just might be around the corner, but our spirits need their own kind of salve to soothe burns inflicted by months of quarantining.
I have been collaborating with my kapatid (sibling— in community and in blood) on this for months: a zine filled with medicine in the form of visual art, poetry, narratives, meditation guides, recipes and journal pages with the intention of supporting decolonization, traditional healing and uplifting BIPOC communities. For you, beautiful journeyer.
Support Black Lives
And the best part is that all profits will be donated to The Loveland Foundation as envisioned and manifested by Rachel Cargle, a foundation devoted to making mental health therapy accessible to Black women and girls.
Look Inside:
In this zine, you will find visual art and recipes for traditional medicine
Read heart-centered narratives promoting QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, People of Color) community action & healing
Meditation guides include tea ceremony and writing calligraphy
The zine is divided into a set of offerings for each direction. The right page acknowledges that you are entering the direction of the West.
Left: Enjoy simple yet powerful vegan recipes to nourish your mind, body & soul
Left: Journey through poetry & reflections on ancestral wisdom
